Head of Security

Lead security strategy and execution for a growing AI platform serving healthcare organizations. You'll own all aspects of security engineering, compliance, and infrastructure protection while building and mentoring a security team. The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities across a 165-person company using Python, Node.js, Go, TypeScript, React, and AWS. Based in San Francisco with hybrid flexibility.

What we're looking for

  • 6–15 years of security engineering or infrastructure security experience, with demonstrated leadership of security teams or programs
  • Strong background in cloud security (AWS), application security, and infrastructure hardening
  • Experience securing healthcare, fintech, or regulated B2B environments preferred
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Go, Node.js) and familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Track record building scalable security processes, threat modeling, and compliance programs from the ground up
